Motivated by a belief in the dignity and worth of each person as a child of God, Good Shepherd San Francisco is committed to helping young women who seek recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.
Through a program based on 12 Step spirituality and holistic treatment, we help each woman transform and grow toward independence by nurturing an appreciation of her true self and strengthening bonds with her God and community.
Core Values
Gracenter is one of many Good Shepherd agencies across the United States and around the world who seek to live these Core values in their relationships with each other and In their relationships with those they serve. The core values are:
| MERCY | Compassion, not judging, understanding, kindness, gentleness, patience |
| RECONCILIATION | Not holding the past against them, forgiveness, healing, acceptance, tolerance, honest communication |
| ZEAL | Perseverance, stick-to-itiveness, tough love, whatever it takes, eager to help |
| INDIVIDUAL WORTH | Respect, courtesy, empowerment, value, |
Keeping aware of these values we seek to create an environment in the house that nurtures new growth for the residents and for each other:
“Spring is a time of new and beautiful growth. There can be growth for us, too. Like earth at the end of winter, when we make the conditions suitable, using abstinence, patience and love our lives will again bring forth new growth.”
