The Good Shepherd Women’s Guild has had a fruitful and significant history.  Founded in 1932, the year the Sisters commenced their work in San Francisco, the Guild collaborated with the new foundation by organizing their first social tea on October 16 of that year.

In the early years, the Women’s Guild generated funds to provide for unmet needs of the girls who were residing at the Good Shepherd Sisters’ University Mound School, a residential school for girls referred by the courts.

Today, funds coming from the Women’s Guild’s activities contribute significantly to the Good Shepherd Gracenter’s addiction recovery program for women, enabling the participation fees for the women at Gracenter to be on a sliding scale. But the greatest contributions of the Women’s Guild are their interest in and care for the women served by Gracenter. Each member of the Women’s Guild is seen as a real friend.
